The Royal Academy of Engineering Armourers & Brasiers Prize is awarded for excellence in materials engineering, as demonstrated by the successful application of novel materials science and technology in practical engineering systems. The award consists of a commemorative medal and a cash prize of £2,000. Nominees may be working in industry or in universities.
The next prize will be awarded in 2023 and the closing date for nominations is 5pm, Friday 4 November 2022. The prize is administered by the Royal Academy of Engineering and nominations should be submitted via the RAEng's Grant Management System. In 2021 the prize was awarded to Mary Ryan CBE FREng, Armourers & Brasiers' Professor in Materials Science at Imperial College London, for her outstanding career in material science and nanotechnology as a brilliant innovator in interfacial materials science and corrosion.
